Excellence in welding of larger constructions requires excellence in dimensional control. IQ Metal applies advanced 3D laser tracking, that allows us to execute 3D controlling of welded items up to 20 m length.
Based upon a 3D model of the work item our engineers are designing the welding jigs. After assembly the jigs are 3D measured, adjusted and measured until they are complying with tolerances.
When the robots have welded the first part, the item is 3D measured and based upon the measuring report, the welding jigs are modified in order to compensate for the impacts of the welding processing.
The work flow is repeated over and over again, until the welded items are in full compliance with the specifications. During the following serial production the welded items are measured by 3D scanning and 3D probing of dimensional control.
All 3D control is fully documented and IQ Metal offers full traceability with references to raw materials, welding wire, welding process parameters, 3D control, surface treatment etc.
In January 2020 IQ Metal was implementing advanced 3D laser tracking measuring and scanning. A significant investment in equipment and training of technicians/operators but today the investment payoffs.
When you aim to be among the leading within the branch of sheet metal works and welding, you must be able to prove the quality you deliver. In addition 3D reports have become a standard as well as they are needed for the dimensional reports related to the PPAP framework. By the laser tracker technology IQ Metal can apply 3D measuring of welded constructions up to the length of 20 m.
